Must Haves
- Bachelor's degree - Mechanical, Aerospace, Civil, Materials, or Structural Engineering
- Senior Engineer 10+ years' experience in airframe analysis.
o Stress Analysis
o Structural Analysis
- Background in Aviation/Aerospace
- Background Supporting the military
- Working knowledge in software's such as MathCad, Femap, and Patran/Nastran
Plusses
- Knowledge of Crack Growth Analysis
- Knowledge of Boeing 707 platform (commercial book 1-4)
- Knowledge of E-3, E-8, and KC-135 aircrafts
- Secret Clearance
Day to Day
The Stress Engineer will be responsible for understanding damage done to the structure of the aircraft. Analyzing data and putting together a repair concept in order to fix the damage. Will be 90% behind a computer running the numbers for analysis to implement repair. After creating the concept, they will be sending back to structural engineer.
- Reviewing and performing analyses using hand calculations using OEM and DoD methods and industry standards.
- Initiate repairs and develop reports that demonstrate designs and meet all design requirements.
- Uses software such as Nastran/Patran and Femap for analysis
- Manage project components including establishing task priorities, scheduling, and tracking work assignments, providing guidance, and ensuring the availability of resources.
- Creating the stress report, this will be a lot of documenting, then goes back to structural engineer
