Job Duties
The Structural Analysis Engineer will be responsible for conducting comprehensive structural analyses to ensure the integrity and reliability of designs across a variety of operating conditions. The role involves utilizing advanced tools such as PATRAN/NASTRAN for finite element analysis (FEA) to evaluate stress, strain, fatigue, and fracture mechanics. The engineer will perform static, dynamic, and non-linear structural assessments, with a particular focus on advanced fracture mechanics using NASGRO, to guide design improvements and ensure compliance with rigorous engineering standards.
Key responsibilities include performing tolerance stack-up analysis, executing hand calculations, and validating the structural safety and performance of designs in accordance with industry and NASA standards. The role requires a deep understanding of non-linear analysis techniques, as well as expertise in interpreting complex results to inform design optimizations. Collaboration with cross-functional teams to integrate analysis results into the overall design process is critical. The successful candidate will also be responsible for documenting findings and providing clear recommendations to stakeholders. Familiarity with Teamcenter or other PLM tools is highly beneficial.
