We are currently seeking a Structural Designer/Drafter with expertise in Tekla Structures, SDS/2, and steel detailing to join a dynamic team in Houston, Texas.
Responsibilities
- Develop and prepare detailed structural drawings, plans, and 3D models using Tekla Structures and SDS/2.
- Perform steel detailing, ensuring accurate connection designs and shop drawings for fabrication.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to meet project specifications and design requirements.
- Revise and update existing designs based on client feedback or project changes.
- Ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and industry best practices.
- Maintain accurate and organized project records, including CAD files and design documentation.
- Work closely with project managers and engineers to resolve technical challenges and ensure project success.
- Assist in creating construction-ready models and detailing for fabrication and erection processes.
Requirements
- Experience: 2-7 years in CAD design/drafting, with a focus on structural or construction-related projects.
- Software Proficiency: Advanced knowledge of Tekla Structures, SDS/2, and other CAD tools.
- Steel Detailing Expertise: In-depth experience in steel detailing, including shop drawings and connection designs.
- Technical Skills: Strong understanding of structural design principles and construction processes.
- Attention to Detail: Commitment to producing accurate and high-quality work.
- Teamwork: Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
