Job Description We are looking for a structural engineer to assist in structural investigations, analyses, and repair design. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Review of structural designs for code compliance
- Structural analysis, document review, and research for root cause evaluation
- On-site inspections and collection of data
- Preparation of reports and repair details
Qualifications The ideal candidate possesses:
- 2 to 10 years of experience in the design and/or investigation of structures
- Experience in the investigation of structural failures and/or preparation of reports for attorney clients preferred.
- Licensure - EIT min., NYS PE preferred
- Degree - ABET-accredited undergraduate degree and Master of Science or Ph.D. in Civil/Structural engineering
- Solid foundation in the principles of mechanics.
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Proficient in structural analysis software such as SAP2000, RISA, STAAD, or RAM
- Familiarity with building codes and standards including IBC, ASCE 7, AISC 360, and ACI 318
- Experience in field and/or lab preferred.
