Job descriptionStructural EngineerIn support of our client, a leader in steel manufacturing, we are seeking an experienced Structural Engineer located in Calvert, AL. This is a full-time direct hire position.DO YOU HAVE WHAT IT TAKES?The ideal candidate will provide technical knowledge to assist maintenance and production personnel in the implementation of civil/structure related modifications/improvements and coordinate third party Engineering companies to meet the business goals of our client.The Basics:Bachelor's degree in Civil, Structural, or Mechanical Engineering6+ years of experience in engineering in an industrial, construction, or similar industryKnowledge of civil/structural industrial applications; drainage standards, abatement, international building code, pavement, reinforced concrete applications, roadways, foundations, and steel structure applicationsProficient with AutoCAD 16 or laterFamiliar with Microsoft Office Products (Outlook, Excel, Teams, Word, PowerPoint)The Extras:Solid Works and REVIT experience a plusP.E. preferredTRAITS TO BE SUCCESSFULDemonstrates strong decision-making, analytical, and problem-solving skillsBuilds partnerships and works collaboratively with others to meet shared objectivesKnows the most effective and efficient processes to get things done, with a focus on continuous improvementExcellent communications skills working with both professionals, operations personnel, and construction tradesAbility to competently handle a fast-paced environment, with strong organizational, multi-tasking, and prioritizing skillsDemonstrates strong interpersonal communications skills, written and verbalWHAT YOU'LL BE DOINGProvide technical support and consultancy to the management structure in the civil/structural disciplinesCoordinate Engineering activities to support maintenance areas in the implementation of building and other civil related modifications and/or improvements, including technical analysis, proposals and alternatives evaluation, cost estimates, diligence, and visual inspectionsCoordinate third party engineering contracting services from the scope definition phase, to the close out document phase; ensuring the non-interference of new deployments in existing processes, through participation and analysis in its developing phaseGuarantee the technical support for the project management group from the feasibility study phase to the coordination of the final acceptance tests, ensuring the technical quality, as well as ensuring the correct technical documentation after changesEstablish the minimum technical requirements necessary to purchase or modify equipment and/or systems by maintaining technical standards based on national, international, or corporate standards, incorporating new technologies whenever necessaryMaintain the company's technical documentation updated and available for consultationCollaborate with other team members and production on needs to develop project needs.Provide regular updates to internal customersAbility to coordinate and execute multiple projects with minimal supervisionPrepares and presents reports and findings by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trendsObserves safety, review accident/incident reports and assist in investigations as requiredLeads, supports, participates in, and develops improvement programs and project groupsSupports management in optimizing quality, cost, availability, and performance of equipmentCoordinates and directs personnel as requiredYOUR WORK ENVIRONMENTOffice and Industrial setting; required to wear personal protective equipment in plant settingsGulf coast region in Calvert, ALDays, Monday to Friday with extended hours as required due to periods of peak workloadsJob Type: Full-timePay: $80,000.00 - $130,000.00 per yearBenefits:401(k)Dental insuranceHealth insuranceLife insurancePaid time offVision insuranceSchedule:8-hour shiftMonday to FridayOvertimeAbility to Commute:Calvert, AL (Required)Work Location: In person
