- Assume responsibility for key aspects of projects and complete assignments with limited oversight, under the guidance of licensed professionals
- Perform hands-on forensic investigations, condition assessments, and construction observations, which may include: documentation of existing conditions, application of nondestructive testing techniques, instrumentation, collecting data and materials samples, and preparing site visit reports
- Assist with development, implementation of, and interpretation of data from specialized field-testing programs associated with new or existing construction to understand the performance of structures and materials
- Analyze field data and perform research
- Review modern and historic materials, construction documents, governing codes, and design guidelines to facilitate analysis, problem solving, and repair design
- Complete structural analyses using a combination of hand calculations and analysis software for a variety of construction materials, including concrete, masonry, steel, wood, and composites
- Assist with drafting and preparation of conceptual, preliminary, and final client deliverables, including structural and architectural construction documents, specifications, and written reports
- Interface with project teams, laboratory teams, clients, contractors, and other engineering disciplines

- Master's degree or better in physics or engineering (civil, structural, or materials) from an accredited program
- Entry level or up to five years of relevant work experience, including concrete materials evaluation and/or NDE applications
- Solid foundation in structural engineering principles with demonstrated interest in the construction, investigation, and rehabilitation of various modern and historic structures, building systems, and construction materials
- Effective technical, graphical, written, and verbal communication skills
- Proactive, team player mindset with willingness to take on various responsibilities, tackle new challenges, and learn new skills
- Ability to prioritize tasks and adapt to changing demands, while maintaining a high standard of excellence, integrity, and attention to detail
- Experience with structural analysis software, MATLAB, MathCAD, and AutoCAD

- Ability to drive and safely operate a motor vehicle
