Job Description:
DCI Engineers - New York City, NY (Full time, mid-senior level)DCI Engineers, a leading structural and civil engineering consulting firm with 20+ offices spanning the United States, currently has opportunities for in-office Structural Project Managers in New York City. This is an ideal opportunity for motivated individuals to work for a young and energetic firm on a wide range of projects.This position is classified as in-office, salaried, exempt. The salary range for this role is $100,000 to $140,000 dependent upon experience and qualifications.Responsibilities of a Structural Engineering Project Manager:
  • Develop, coordinate, and direct production of engineering project documents.
  • Oversee and perform calculations, design, and analysis of applicable elements for projects.
  • Collaborate with the engineering, drafting and detailing teams to coordinate design details and construction document requirements.
  • Supervise the work of junior engineers and participate in project staffing discussions.
  • Forecast workload and schedules for project team and manage communication and documentation for the project.
  • Coordinate structural engineering design with the client, project architects, municipal agencies, and other design team members.
  • Oversee shop drawing review, RFI responses for projects during construction.
  • Evaluate additional service requests, review billing and collecting, and coordinate permit responses and construction support services.
  • Develop a client base through horizontal marketing.
Requirements for a Structural Project Manager:
  • Minimum five years of Structural design engineering experience. Project management experience a plus.
  • PE license required or the ability to obtain it in the near future. NY State license preferred.
  • Civil Engineering degree from an ABET accredited university. Master's degree preferred.
  • Knowledge of the applicable codes for design of building structures. Knowledge of the current and previous NYC Building Codes preferred.
  • Experience designing and managing projects using steel, concrete, wood, cold formed steel, masonry, etc.
  • Proficiency in analysis programs: Risa Floor/3D/Foundation/Connection, ETABS, SAFE (or others) and Excel.
  • Ability to manage your time, juggling multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to lead and train junior engineers and coordinate with BIM Designers.
  • Desire to build strong client relationships and provide excellent service.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with a variety of stakeholders - clients, and design and construction teams.
