We're searching for a forward-thinking Structural Sales Engineer to support a wide range of projects across industrial sectors such as chemical, power, and food/beverage manufacturing. This is no ordinary engineering role - you'll be the mastermind behind groundbreaking designs, a technical expert who inspires innovation, and a strategic thinker who ensures our projects meet and exceed our client's needs.Project variety examples:
- Design of multi-storied, steel-framed buildings or additions for new processes and equipment.
- Design of reinforced concrete foundations, containment area, and a truck unloading station for new storage tanks.
- Design of reinforced concrete foundation(s) for a new pre-fabricated steel building.
- Design of structural steel platforms/catwalks and reinforced concrete foundations for new access.
- Design of structural steel support columns, girders, bracing and reinforced concrete foundations for new bridge cranes.
- Inspections with assessment reports and recommendations and design of modifications for existing steel and concrete structures.
Here's a taste of what you'll be doing:
- Support the sales growth within the Structural Engineering Division; form strong business relationships with key decision makers, follow up on business leads, generate new business, develop client relationships within the Food/Beverage, Chemical, Power/Utilities, and Consumer Goods Manufacturing markets.
- Utilize structural engineering experience and expertise to discuss engineering solutions directly with clients, in addition to supporting the business development team.
- Provide technical guidance and recommendations during the sales process.
- Interface with customers to understand their project requirements, challenges, and objectives.
- Develop and prepare proposals including scope description, fee estimate, and anticipated project schedule execution.
You'll be a perfect fit if you have:
- Bachelor of Science degree in Civil/Structural or Architectural Engineering from an accredited university or college.
- 5-10 years of structural engineering experience, preferably in industrial, commercial, and civil design.
- PE or EIT is strongly preferred.
- Prior structural steel and concrete design experience.
- Ability to identify resources required for a project and provide estimated times for completion of the scope.
- Ability to identify changes in project scope and estimate the additional resources required to complete the additional work.
- Proficient knowledge of applicable design codes including current editions ASCE 7 (and others), IBC, ACI 318, AISC 303 (and others) as well as locally adopted codes and standards.
