ESTIMATING MANAGER Job Overview: We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Estimator to join and manage our dynamic estimating team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in construction estimating and project management, with the ability to analyze project specifications and prepare accurate cost estimates. This role requires excellent negotiation skills and the ability to build strong relationships with clients and subcontractors. The Estimator will play a crucial role in seeking projects to bid and ensuring that projects are completed on time and within budget.

Estimator Responsibilities

  • Analyze blueprints, specifications, and other documentation to prepare comprehensive cost estimates for construction projects.
  • Utilize software tools such as Bluebeam and Tekla EPM for efficient estimating processes.
  • Collaborate with project managers and construction teams to gather necessary information for accurate pricing.
  • Conduct site visits to assess project requirements and gather data for estimates.
  • Negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors to secure competitive pricing while maintaining quality standards.
  • Monitor project costs throughout the construction process to ensure adherence to budget constraints.
  • Prepare detailed reports and presentations of estimates for review by management and stakeholders.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, materials, and techniques to provide informed recommendations.

Estimator Requirements

  • Proven experience in steel construction estimating or a related field, with a strong understanding of cost control principles.
  • Proficiency in construction management software, particularly Bluebeam and HeavyBid.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and make informed decisions.
  • Excellent negotiation skills with a track record of building effective relationships with clients and subcontractors.
  • Knowledge of project management methodologies and practices within the construction industry.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills, ensuring accuracy in all estimates prepared.
