Job Description Structural Steel Estimator (AISC Fabricator) JOB DESCRIPTION An AISC Fabricator in Lafayette is seeking a miscellaneous steel Estimator to add to their growing team. The ideal candidate will have experience in the steel industry and have familiarity with Commercial Construction projects under AISC standards. Connections with major GCs operating in the Midwest is a major plus. Structural Steel Estimator Requirements:
- +2 years estimating experience with emphasis on structural steel and/or miscellaneous steel fabrication.
- Commercial Project experience with Schools, Hospitals, and Sports Stadiums.
- Software experience and fluency with Tekla PowerFab/Structures, Bluebeam, SDS/2, and Trimble Connect.
- Knowledge of AISC certification.
Structural Steel Estimator Job Description:
- Review plans and specifications in detail to become completely familiar with the scope of work involved.
- Performs takeoffs of the plans to establish benchmarks for subcontractor and supplier quote comparisons and as an aid in estimating direct labor and material costs.
- Highlights all key items in the plans and project specifications that might directly affect the final estimate. This includes notes or any unusual conditions shown on the plans.
- Communicate with subcontractors and suppliers (stairs, rails and other buyouts) all necessary information in order to efficiently acquire accurate quote.
- Update all estimates for Change Orders and maintains supporting records of all changes.
- Determines any areas that may require further clarification and submits appropriate Requests for Information (RFI's).
Salary: $70,000 - $100,000 DOE Benefits:
