Thisis why we're hiring a Structures Project Engineer. You will be responsible for planning and tracking Structures Engineering developments across multiple projects. JetZero is a place for people who are ambitious, talented, and humble. This role is based in Long Beach, CA reporting to the Head of Structures. The Opportunity JetZero is in growth mode. As a Structures Design Engineer, you will be responsible for design, review, and approval of aircraft primary and secondary structures. Responsibilities include:
- Define and drive KPI attainment for structures team
- Work with technical experts to build and execute product development schedule, ensuring that all program and system level milestones are attained
- Execute on available budget by resource planning
- Work directly with nominated Suppliers in ensuring key deliverables/milestones are met
- Ensure that the needs of on-site lab stakeholders are planned for and met by the Structures team
- Continuously monitor and measure project processes and activities to identify and communicate potential inhibitors and implement efficiency improvements
- Ensure revision control for requirements, design documentation and product configuration
- Lead collaboration of cross-functional teams to ensure alignment through execution of successful governance
- Refine structures design validation plan with the support of expert team
- Support with planning and alignment meetings towards FAA certification
- Intermittent travel expected for this role
On-site Presence - this role involves face-to-face interaction with team members, laboratories, internal stakeholders, and potential investors, and thus, is designed to be in-office at our Long Beach headquarters approximately 4-5 days a week. - Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Mechanical or Aerospace related degrees preferred
- 10 or more years of experience in aerospace structural design, including 4 or more years of demonstrated leadership experience.
- Exceptional presentation skills and attention to detail. Outstanding and persuasive communicator. Demonstrated ability to present a narrative supported by data and relevant back-up
- Collaborative style and viewed as a strong business partner
- Must be able to perform in a high-pressure environment, and be able to meet tight deadlines
- Has superb written and verbal communication skills, as well as the ability to draft engaging and impactful messages for inspiring employees and investors
