Job Description:
Title: Recreation and Athletic Center (RAC) Student AssistantReports To: Assistant Director of Athletics / Associate Director of Athletics Standard Hours: Variable - up to 20 hours per week(CANNOT work more than 20 hours per week with all combined KC employment classes are in session)FLSA Status: Non-Exempt Classification: StudentWage: minimum wageSummary: The Office of Campus Recreation seeks qualified individuals to supervise the front desk and fitness areas of the Recreation and Athletic Center (RAC) at the College. Essential Responsibilities:
  • Supervise and maintain organization of assigned areas.
  • Enforce facility policies and educate users on those policies.
  • Perform risk assessments to provide a continuously safe environment.
  • Assist in one or more of the following: Planning and execution of recreation & athletic programming; Clean facility and equipment as assigned; and Scheduling and supervision of student staff.
  • Responsible for ensuring that assigned tasks are completed in compliance with various institutional and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain a professional and courteous attitude at all times towards co-workers, internal and external customers, representing Keuka College, its programs, policies, and procedures in a positive and professional manner. Maintain effective working relationships to ensure institution-wide teamwork.
  • Attend provided/necessary training and other meetings to support effectiveness within the position as required.
  • Consistently demonstrate high standards of integrity by supporting the Keuka College mission, vision, and values and adhering to institutional policies.
  • Maintain a high regard for student privacy in accordance with the FERPA privacy policies and procedures.
  • Regular and reliable attendance is expected and required.
  • Perform other functions as assigned by management.
RequirementsMinimum Qualifications:
  • Eligible for a Keuka Work-Study Award or Federal Work-Study Award.
  • Keuka College student in the traditional undergraduate on-campus program.
  • Basic computer and telephone skills required.
  • Enthusiastic, with a desire to work hard and have fun.
  • Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing.
  • Understand and behave with a high level of integrity and complete confidentiality at all times.
  • Ability to be sensitive to and respond to needs/concerns of students, faculty, college staff and the public.
  • Ability to work under pressure with a high tolerance for interruptions, and the ability to work with diverse groups of people.
  • Physical Requirements:
    • Occasional early morning, evening, and weekend hours required.
    • Occasional lifting up to 25 lbs.
