Posting DetailsPosition Information Job Title Student Accounts Representative Job Description Under the leadership of the Director of Student Accounts, this position ensures the accuracy of student account information. Responsibilities include delivering high level customer service to the college community, billing tuition and fees as well as the processing payments and applicable adjustments. This position will utilize information technology systems to analyze and report on activities within the Office of Student Accounts.Essential Duties Summary Essential Functions
  • Ensure the effective functioning of the College's billing and payment processes for undergraduate, graduate, non-degree students, and other affiliates
  • Deliver consistent high level customer service with students, parents, guardians, external customers, and staff/faculty through in-person consultations, phone conversations, online video meetings, and written communications (email, mail, etc.), with topics related to the student account and any applicable tax documents.
  • Collaborate effectively with campus partners, including the Office of Financial Aid, Registrar, Housing, and others whose work is closely related to the core functions of the Office of Student Accounts.
  • Perform student account related tasks including cashiering, processing refunds, processing approved student tuition adjustments, maintaining records for payment plans, following specific College procedures and policies.
  • Utilize information technology systems to record and report on the activities of the Office of Student Accounts
Additional Responsibilities
  • Participate in cross-training and coverage to support service standards within the department.
  • Consider, suggest, and develop improvements to business processes
  • Learn to use new technology as it is introduced
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor
Physical Requirements
  • Work is performed in an office environment and requires the ability sit for extended periods of time and operate standard office equipment and keyboards
Required Qualifications Required Qualifications
  • 1-2 years of experience in student accounts or a comparable customer services based role
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Demonstrated ability to learn and apply regulatory and compliance policies
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.).
  • Proficiency in account and payment management technology
  • Organizational skills
  • High integrity and ability to exercise sound judgment
  • Ability to handle confidential information
  • Written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability working as a proactive and effective member of a team.
  • General understanding of basic accounting processing (summarizing, analyzing, performing computations and reporting transactions)
  • Ability to work on site
  • High school diploma or equivalent
Preferred Qualifications Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Experience in higher education student accounts or other student services
  • Familiarity with college billing and refund policies, institutional and FERPA confidentiality regulations; and Federal Title IV cash management regulations.
  • Proficiency in student accounts management information technology systems
