Job DescriptionReports to: Assistant Head of School for Student Life Exempt/Non-exempt: Non-exempt Schedule: Monday-Friday 7:30am-3:30pm (Thursday 7:00 am start); with occasional weekend workSUMMARY DESCRIPTIONThe position will create and support the student activities program that meets the needs of a diverse student population and comes with the expectation of involvement in the lives of students on campus. In addition, this position will also serve as a support resource and connection point for Upper School students and will include specific responsibilities that include attendance oversight, teaching, coaching, or other afternoon program involvement, residential life duty, and student advising. Campus housing will be available starting in the 2025-26 school year.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND KEY OBJECTIVESStudent Activities Coordinator
- Build and manage an activities program that appeals to the full range of students' interests, including off-campus trips, on-campus activities, and campus-wide events
- In collaboration with student leaders, help in the creation of new and exciting events and initiatives
- Work with the Director of Residential Life and International Student Coordinator in developing residential life and student activities with our global population in mind (cultural programming, weekend offerings, etc.)
- Publish the weekend activities on our WA weekend website including trips, open facilities, arts and athletic events
- Coordinate the weekend duty schedule and assign all staffing
- Assist in the coordination of all major student events (Oskee Weekend, Battle for the Hilltop, and Spree Day)
- Help with orientation and the opening of school
- Assist with the planning and implementation of commencement activities
- Serve as a faculty advisor to a student leadership group and help support our student leadership program
- Serve as an advisor to up to 8 students
- Weekend duties as assigned
Upper School Attendance Oversight
- Overseeing systems and processes for daily Upper School student attendance to ensure accurate and effective management of attendance data
- Coordinate all communications around attendance, including parent calls and emails to students and faculty
- Manage morning study halls
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist in the development of the Student Life Curriculum
- Responsible for doing two Qualified Activities as a member of the Faculty Community
- Drive a minibus for student transport as needed

- Successful candidates will be organized, professional, self-motivated, detail-oriented, warm, creative, and productive, as well as have a strong work ethic and an ability to work effectively in an active school environment
- Individuals should have strong communication skills and an ability to work collaboratively and independently, as well as possess superior time-management skills with an ability to manage many tasks and projects simultaneously
- In addition, candidates must genuinely enjoy working with adolescents
QUALIFICATIONS Education
- Bachelor's degree required
Experience
- Experience in an independent school setting preferred
- Previous experience utilizing Blackbaud LMS, REACH, and Google Suite
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Hear, see, and speak to effectively communicate in-person and by telephone with supervisors, staff, and external contacts
- Must be able to navigate around walking campus in all weather elements
- Ability to lift at least 20 pounds
- Comfortable with sitting at a computer terminal for long periods of time throughout the day
