Salary : $43,118.40 - $45,739.20 AnnuallyLocation : Monroe, MIJob Type: Part-timeJob Number: 2024 - 00155Department: AdmissionsOpening Date: 12/13/2024Closing Date: 2/13/2025 11:59 PM EasternPosition Summary The Student Activities Coordinator manages the functions of the college's student clubs and organizations and hasco-advisingresponsibilitytooversee the StudentGovernmentAssociation(SGA)andPhiTheta Kappa (PTK) in conjunction with a faculty advisor. The Coordinator organizes student organizations' activities that promote student leadership, participation in college decision-making, enrichment of student life, and manages the budget associated with these functions. Essential Job Functions 1.Provides leadership for an effective program of Student Activities and the operation of Student Government, promotes the creation and development of new campus clubs and organizations; provides an annual orientation for all clubs and organizations; maintains appropriate contact with all clubs and organizations, including advisors.2.Trains officers and plans initiation and graduation ceremonies. Provides ongoing leadership training inclusive of Robert's Rules of Order for all clubs.3.Plans and implements recruitment efforts by capitalizing on college data systems and coordinating with SGA and PTK organizations. Outcomes to include the implementation of automated membership application systems.4.Works with club and organization leadership to develop and plan the Campus/Community Events schedule and implementation. Determines appropriate campus facilities for programs and reserves rooms and facilities for use; promotes events through campus publicity and local media when appropriate. 5.Oversight of SGA and PTK conference trips.6.Maintains accurate records of all Student Activities events and Student Government activities (including event proposals, budgets, contacts, contracts, evaluations, andmedia/publicity).7.Works with faculty, staff and administration to leverage SGA and PTK in enhancing student outcomes as measured by retention, persistence and completion of membership.8.Ensures SGA, PTK and other club-sponsored events and activities are conducted in accordance with applicable local, state, federal, and Monroe County Community College regulations, policies, and procedures.9.Coordinates, implements, and evaluates student social, cultural enrichment, and educational activities related to student organization development, including picnics, carnivals and various other activities.10.Provides direction for the Student Government Council officers and supervises and coordinates Student Government and PTK elections, activities, and special events.11.Responsible for managing the budget and requisitioning all payments related to the activities. Provides budget and expense reports for all events and recommends and maintains an annual budget for Student Activities and Student Government.12.Assists student club advisors in processing requests for seed money and coordinating the annual review of club accounts.13.Represents the College at recruitment events on campus and in the community.14.Works on various campus committees and other special assignments as assigned by the administration and performs other duties as assigned.15.Requires the kind of teamwork, supervision, and personal interaction, that cannot be hadin a home office situation; therefore, regular and predictable on-site attendance is a jobrequirementRequirements
