This position not only provides advisement and support services for students but also assists the Associate Dean in managing program-related activities. The ideal candidate will have strong interpersonal skills, experience in academic advising, and the ability to coordinate effectively with faculty, staff, and students.ResponsibilitiesKey ResponsibilitiesStudent Advising and Support (50%)Provide personalized academic advising to undergraduate and graduate students at the School of Management, helping them plan their academic journey, understand degree requirements, and stay on track for timely graduation.Assist students with course selection, schedule planning, academic policies, and procedures.Address academic concerns, including major selection, course withdrawals, and program transfers.Offer support for students facing academic or personal challenges and make referrals to appropriate campus resources (e.g., counseling services, tutoring).Conduct regular advisement sessions to monitor student progress, ensure understanding of graduation requirements, and support retention efforts.Serve as the primary contact for prospective students, providing information on program offerings, admission requirements, and application procedures.Maintain up-to-date, accurate student records and advising notes, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with institutional policies.Generate reports on student progress, advising metrics, and program effectiveness for the Associate Deans.Participate in student recruitment and retention efforts by attending events such as open houses, informational sessions, and student fairs.Develop and maintain clear, consistent communication channels with students, faculty, and administration through in-person and zoom meetings, emails, and informational meetings.Program Support and Coordination (50%)Responsible for overseeing the scheduling of classes. Coordinating the academic schedule for courses each semester, ensuring that classes are spaced appropriately, and resources are allocated efficiently. Analyzing enrollment trends and the course demand to inform future scheduling decisions and improve resource allocation.Collaborate closely with the Associate Deans to coordinate tasks related to undergraduate and graduate program administration.Support the development, implementation, and evaluation of academic programs and policies, initiatives, and procedures within the School of Management.Assist in managing program logistics, such as academic workshops, and events related to student orientation, graduation, and faculty-led seminars.Work on data collection to support program assessments, and continuous improvement efforts.Act as a liaison between the school and campus departments to ensure program alignment with institutional standards and resources.Perform other administrative duties as assigned, including assisting with data entry, preparing documents, and updating program materials.QualificationsBachelor's degree required; Master's degree in Higher Education Administration, Counseling, or related field preferred.Minimum of 2 years of experience in academic advising, student affairs, or a related area, preferably within higher education.Strong knowledge of academic policies and practices in higher education.Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills to effectively guide and support a diverse student population.Proficiency in student information systems, advising software, and MS Office Suite.Ability to work collaboratively with faculty, staff, and administration across multiple campus locations.Excellent organizational skills with a detail-oriented approach to managing student records and program-related tasks.Interested candidates should submit a resume, cover letter, and contact information for two professional references.
