SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES

Schreiner University is seeking a dynamic and dedicated Graduate Assistant to join the Student Affairs Department. This position is designed for a graduate student who will assist in all areas of Student Affairs to provide a holistic experience for the graduate student. Areas include but are not limited to, Student Activities, Greek Life, Residence Life, Student Engagement, Campus Recreation, and Campus Ministry. The Graduate Assistant will play a crucial role in enhancing the student experience through the development and implementation of programs and services that promote student involvement and community.

Graduate students will have the ability to practice professional skills within the area of Student Affairs by engaging in program development and planning, administrative support, student mentoring, and day to day to interactions with students and professionals to implement initiatives that support the mission and vision of the university.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Within all areas of Student Affairs, the graduate assistant will work with department directors and coordinators to provide the essential functions of:

* Assisting with the planning, promoting, and execution of Student Affairs events, programs, activities, and initiatives.

* Assisting with the development and support of recognized student organizations:

* provide guidance, training, and mentorship to students participating in recognized student organizations and clubs.

* Assisting with the development and implementation of residence hall programs that foster community and student engagement.

* Assisting with the development and implementation of initiatives that promote student involvement and leadership.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED

* Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.

* Currently enrolled in a graduate program at Schreiner University.

* Strong organizational and communication skills.

* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

* Availability to work nights and weekends.

* Event planning and management

* Leadership and mentoring

* Conflict resolution

* Program evaluation and assessment.

* Marketing and promotion
