Examples of DutiesEXAMPLES OF WORK: Learns to assist in the processing of correspondence, technical reports, and/or materials as assigned. Learns to or may assist in the preparation of records, forms, applications, documents, and so forth. Learns to carry out routine procedures according to the rules and regulations of the department, division, program, or unit assigned. Learns to, or as assigned aid professional staff in planning, preparing, analyzing, and or examining records, procedures, data, or programs. Learns to, or as assigned, review, proofread, or analyze documents. Learns to, or as assigned, provide support to clerical/technical staff in operating office equipment. May be required to learn to utilize various types of electronic and/or manual recording and information systems used by the agency, office, or related units. Typical QualificationsREQUIREMENTS:EDUCATION: Education requirements shall be determined by the appointing authority commensurate with the area and/or level of expertise or skill necessary to perform the duties of the job. NOTE: Student Assistants are required to continue attending an academic institution either at the High School, College, or Vocational/Technical level. Appointments to these positions are terminated when the employee discontinues his participation in the formal work study program or does not continue his education studies beyond the beginning of the following school year. Supplemental InformationCOUNTY AND MUNICIPAL GOVERNMENT AGENCIES In a local government agency, performs the clerical, professional, or technical duties of the position. NOTE: Local participating agencies will receive Department of Personnel authorization to appoint to the Student Assistant title (29037) for a maximum of one (1) year under Stage 1 of the Student Intern Program. At Stage two (2) of the Student Intern Program, the Department of Personnel will authorize non competitive appointment of Student Assistant (03807). The Student Intern remains in Student Assistant (03807) until successful completion of the Working Test Period and graduation from the appropriate field of study to meet the minimum requirements of the targeted title and all additional criteria under the Student Intern Program.STUDENT INTERNSHIP PROGRAM In a Student Internship Program, the student must be enrolled in an accredited technical, undergraduate and graduate school or community college. The program provides the student with a comprehensively structured internship which, when successfully completed, will lead to a promotional opportunity to a Student Intern Program approved career service title. The student will participate in the formalized work study program and will be mentored by an agency's program representative. Department of Personnel authorization is required to prior appointment to this title. NOTE: Appointees may be required to possess a certification or license appropriate for the position to be filled.You must be between the ages of 14-17 and working papers are required.This position is Seasonal Only up to February 28, 2023 and you must be an ATLANTIC CITY RESIDENT, with a low to moderate household income. Will need proof of income.Working hours are 20 hours per week.Not Eligible for COAC Benefits
