Job Summary
This position will assist Oxbow Meadows Environmental Learning Center delivering a variety of environmental education programs, providing animal care, general facility maintenance, and speaking to the public.
Responsibilities
* Leading birthday programs that deliver a fun, safe, and education activity for all;
* Organize, setup, and prepare birthday party materials and location;
* Coordinate and design with the Oxbow team weekend programs for families;
* Lead weekend family activities that focus on the outdoors, the environment, and science;
* Attend offsite community events;
* Assist with developing content for social media and scheduling posts (Facebook and Instagram);
* Design marketing materials for upcoming events and fundraisers using Canva;
* Assist with animal care and exhibit care as needed;
* Assist with outdoor projects, such as trail maintenance as needed.
Required Qualifications
* Be a current CSU student;
* The selected candidate must possess a genuine interest in children and teaching;
* Interest in learning about herpetology, including animal care;
* Have a positive attitude;
* Well-developed communication skills;
* Ability to adapt to a changing and fast-paced working environment.;
* Must have own reliable transportation, Oxbow Meadows is not on main campus;
* Must be willing to learn how to lead programs using reptiles and amphibians;
* Must have interest and enthusiasm for working with children;
* Must have excellent communication skills and professional demeanor;
* Reliable, adaptable, and able to work both independently and collaboratively
* Position is open to any majors.
Proposed Salary
Salary is commensurate with education and experience.
Must be available Saturday 8:30-4:30, remaining hours will accommodate academic schedules, maximum 19 hours a week.
