Undergraduate Assistantship Opportunities-2023

Dr. Deborah Deckner-Davis in the Department of Psychology and Human Services is soliciting applications for three Undergraduate Assistants, starting January 2024. Please find the description of the available assistantships below. Undergraduate Assistants will be expected to work an average of 10 hours per week starting January 2024 through December 2024 with total compensation of $7,800 during that time frame (i.e., $15 per hour). Undergraduate students may use this opportunity for completion of internship with approval from their major.

Position Description - Clayton State University is a recipient of and participant in the U.S. Department of Education's Child Care Access Means Parents in School (CCAMPIS) Grant program (USDOECCAMPIS). This program will provide Pell eligible, Clayton State University undergraduate student-parents child care subsidies to support their degree completion. Successful applicants for this assistantship will demonstrate knowledge of child development either through completion of relevant academic coursework, prior professional experience relevant to child development, or lived experience as a parenting student. Applicants must have strong written and oral communication skills, strong problem-solving skills, and excellent attention to detail.

Undergraduate student assistants will be responsible for (1) attending university events, such as new student orientations, and staffing informational tables in order to share information with incoming and current students regarding Clayton State Universitys Child Care Subsidy Program, (2) attending Clayton State Universitys student led parent support group, Parents Lochd In, meetings to gather information from parenting students about their needs and perspectives on services available at CSU and to share information about any new or upcoming services and events specifically geared toward parenting students, and (3) help connect parenting students with a range of CSU resources.

Minimum Education Requirement High School diploma and current enrollment in an accredited undergraduate program.
