Review more information at BNL | Benefits Program A student assistant position will be immediately available in the Interdisciplinary Science Department, Energy Systems Division. The duration of the position will be three months in the summer of 2024 (from May to August 2024). The student will be expected to work 40 hours per week. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: The major responsibility of the student will be the performance of power grid modeling and simulation, statistical analysis and machine learning applications in power system control or cybersecurity, and the implementation in Python and Matlab. POSITION REQUIREMENTS Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • PhD. or Master's students with training to perform research and development under some guidance.
  • The candidates should have a major in electrical engineering, computer science, or applied mathematics.
  • Background in electric power systems modeling and simulation and data analytics and machine learning techniques.
  • Software development skills using programming languages such as Python or Matlab.
  • Experience with OPAL-RT preferred.

Salary offers will be commensurate with the final candidate's qualification, education and experience and considered with the internal peer group.
