Position DetailsPosition Information Job Title Student Assistant - Library Graduate Writing Specialist Position Type Student Division Academic Affairs Department Library Job Description Under direct supervision, investigates and writes short articles (500-1000 words) that showcase historical perspectives of the West Texas region based on assigned topics. Helps to proofread and otherwise support the work of fellow student writers also on the project. Navigates digital collections of the Library of Congress and West Texas Collection to identify accompanying images, videos, or other digital items. Communicates with grant leaders and fellow students in a professional manner and helps to meet grant deadlines and purpose. Reports to library personnel while also working closely with faculty on the project.Required Qualifications
- Must be a currently enrolled graduate student.
- Must be able to write and communicate professionally.
- Comfort working in a cloud-based computer environment using Microsoft products - primarily Word and Teams.
- Ability to follow directions accurately and efficiently.
- Ability to proofread and provide respectful feedback to fellow student writers.
- Ability to organize and complete tasks according to given deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications
- Major in History, Education, English, Political Science or similar program.
- Maintains a personal laptop for use on the job.
