Manufacturing Engineering
Job Summary
The Student Assistant will support the Department of Manufacturing Engineering as a Lab Assistant on the Statesboro Campus beginning Fall 2024. We're seeking 3 enthusiastic students to join a vibrant, collaborative project between the Colleges of Engineering and Education! This unique role is perfect for students passionate about STEM education, professional communication, and organizing events. You'll have the chance to gain hands-on experience while working on innovative initiatives that directly connect with industry professionals and educators.
Student employees cannot work more than 1300 hours in a 12-consecutive month period.
Responsibilities
* Planning and organizing engaging workshops and events for students and educators
* Coordinating and communicating with student participants, mentors, and speakers to ensure a smooth flow of events
* Reaching out to and inviting internal and external speakers to share their expertise
* Leading the coordination, planning, and participating in site visits, external meetings, and conferences
* Researching and identifying target industries, building networks, and expanding project opportunities
* Drafting clear and concise weekly and monthly reports to track activities and progress
* Maintaining open communication with supervisors, participating in meetings, and sharing updates
Shift Specifics
* Up to 12 hours per week
* Flexible with schedule of availability
Required Qualifications
Educational Requirements
* Must be enrolled in six or more undergraduate credit hours or three or more graduate credit hours at Georgia Southern University.
Proposed Salary
$20.00 per hour
This is a non-exempt position paid on a biweekly basis.
