Job Summary
This role will be responsible for overseeing and maintaining the Student Center Extension facilities, including the Game Room, Multipurpose Room, Theater, and Studio/Media Room. Key responsibilities include monitoring equipment usage, ensuring it is properly checked out to current students, and recording usage details accurately. The position also works as a student life front desk representative assisting students and guests, answering questions, directing guests to the appropriate department with exemplary customer service.
Responsibilities
* Monitor and maintain the Student Center Extension facilities, including the Game Room, Multipurpose Room, Theater, and Studio/Media Room.
* Check out equipment to students, verify enrollment status, and record details such as student names and times of usage.
* Ensure all equipment is used appropriately and not abused.
* Maintain cleanliness of the Student Center Extension facilities and the equipment.
* Handle incoming calls, take messages, and provide general information to students and visitors.
* Direct traffic to appropriate campus departments as needed.
* Assist with coordinating Intramural Sports activities as required.
* Perform additional special assignments as delegated by the department.
Required Qualifications
* Experience in customer service, preferably in an educational or recreational setting.
* Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
* Ability to communicate effectively with students, faculty, and staff.
* Familiarity with recreational equipment and basic maintenance practices is advantageous.
* Willingness to work flexible hours (scheduled around the academic schedule) based on the department's needs.
Preferred Qualifications
* Experience in customer service, preferably in an educational or recreational setting.

* Ability to communicate effectively with students, faculty, and staff.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
Basic computer skills are needed, including the ability to answer emails and create basic excel spreadsheets. The ability to provide good customer service is essential. The ability at times to help create flyers and posters for campus and event use.
