Job Description:
Learning Objectives:
The goals of the Veterinary Technology Animal Care Project are:
* To increase veterinary technology students' proficiency in the basic animal care and husbandry skills that are required by the program accrediting agency and are necessary for program and job success.
* To promote an appreciation of the personal responsibility of Registered Veterinary Technicians to provide dedicated compassionate and thorough treatment to animals under their care.
* To allow animal patients in the Veterinary Technology Program increased contact with human care-providers in a non-threatening environment.
* To promote a spirit of teamwork and an attitude of honesty and professionalism when caring for patients and clients.
* Consistently maintain 6 credit hours each semester;
* Maintain satisfactory academic progress;
* Adhere to College's confidentiality policy;
* Successfully pass background/drug screening;
* Answer phone and take messages;
* Clerical duties such as filing, data entry, copying and faxing;
* Open and sort mail;
* Strong interpersonal communication skills;
* Willingness to learn new technology;
* Assist with special projects;
* Other duties as assigned.
