The SCIA supports the Office of Student Housing's mission and vision by identifying, supporting, and implementing initiatives that educate, advocate, and promote a culture of diversity, inclusion, multiculturalism, and social justice in MSU's residence halls and the Morehead State University campus. The SCIA serves as a resource for and advises students and student-leaders in navigating situations related to campus diversity, inclusion, multiculturalism, and/or social justice.Essential Duties and Responsibilities Schedule and be present for up to 18 Office Hours each week in the Housing Office or other MSU office as needed Serve as a student representative on the Student Affairs Diversity & Inclusion Team, and fulfill the expectations and responsibilities as a member of that team Develop, organize, implement, and assess workshops and events for the MSU community that develop and foster a culture of inclusion and social awareness among members of the MSU community Facilitate training sessions and workshops for student-leaders as needed Communicate and promote opportunities, both on-campus and in the community, for students to engage with and/or develop knowledge, skills, and awareness of diversity, inclusion, multiculturalism, and/or social justice Develop and maintain positive relationships with university offices, university organizations, and community partners Serve as a representative of the Office of Student Housing and/or Morehead State University at university events as needed Chair a department-sponsored student organization whose mission is to promote diversity, inclusion, and social justice within MSU's residence halls and on the Morehead State University campus Schedule and attend regular meetings with supervisor(s) Maintain university records in accordance with university policies and federal, state, and local laws Maintain and respond to regular lines of communication in a timely manner, including email and phone/messaging services Attend and complete all required training for the position and associated responsibilities, including the NCBI Train-the-Trainer training as part of the Student Affairs Diversity & Inclusion TeamOther Duties and Responsibilities Other duties as assignedMinimum Requirements Must have been an RA for 1 academic yearAdditional Desirable QualificationsPhysical RequirementsWorking ConditionsSpecial Information/Instructions to Applicants
