Job Description:

Position Summary:

The TRIOSSS Student Assistant will serve as a main point of contact for students, faculty, staff, and college personnel for the TRiO program. The student employee will complete administrative tasks such as setting appointments, completing projects, serve as receptionist in SSS lab, and maintain memos/letters/applications and other communication needs for the project.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

* Collect and maintain records of project activities and services.

* Provide word processing and other office services to staff.

* Help prepare reports, help organize workshops and off-campus activities

* Attend and participate in meetings and training opportunities required by the position, including Title IX, Drug-Free Workplace, and Safety Training.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Preferred:

* Communication and organizational skills.

* Guest service skills.

* Computer application skills to include Microsoft Office.

* Working knowledge or ability to learn office equipment such as fax machine, copiers, and printers.

* Respect for the confidentiality of all information received.

* Demonstrated personal integrity, sound judgment, and dependability.

* Professional demeanor while representing BMCC.

Eligibility Criteria:

Student must meet and maintain all eligibility criteria during employment.

* Must be an enrolled student at Bay Mills Community College.

* Must be enrolled in at least 6 credits

* Must have attendance of 70% or higher in all classes.

* Must meet Satisfactory Academic Progress (Cumulative GPA of 2.0 and Successful completion rate of 67%)
