Summary
The TRIO Student Support Services (SSS) Student Employees support the TRIO SSS department by providing tutoring services to students and completing day to day department tasks. Student employees will work on a part time basis, often with flexible schedules to accommodate class needs.
Students must be enrolled in a minimum of 6 credit hours to be eligible for student employment opportunities during Fall and Spring semesters. Students must be enrolled in a minimum of 3 credit hours to be eligible for student employment opportunities during Summer semesters.
Essential Functions

* Contact and make appointments with students for tutoring sessions and staff TRIO study room.
* Meet with diverse student population on a one-on-one basis, small group, or drop-in basis to provide learning assistance.
* Contact and follow up with students to set up regular appointments for tutoring sessions according to requests and assignments from Tutor Coordinator.
* Attend and complete mandatory training sessions and workshops.
* Generate and submit weekly reports to tutor coordinator.
* Ability to communicate study strategies and promote academic success.
* Collaborate tutor coordinator for tutoring assignments and schedules.
* Perform related duties as required.
Minimum Qualifications
The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills and abilities required to satisfactorily perform the essential duties and responsibilities.
* Must be enrolled in 6 credit hours at ICC during the semester of employment for fall or spring or enrolled in 3 credit hours for summer employment.
* 3.0 GPA or higher in tutoring subject matter.
* Possess excellent level of confidentiality, responsibility, reliability, punctuality and professionalism.
* Strong verbal and written communication skills.
* Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to establish and maintain cooperative and professional working relationships with others.
