The Student Worker Program is designed to provide on-the-job training and experience while participants obtain their degree. We will help you to gain experience in building employment skills, establishing a professional network while continuing your education. This is a temporary, part-time position, compensated on an hourly as-needed basis for up to 30 hours per week during the instructional period.

WHAT WILL I DO AS A STUDENT PROFESSIONAL WORKER, INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY?
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Current enrollment in an accredited four-year college with specialization in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field and successful completion of 60 semester units or 90 quarter units.
LICENSE:
A valid California Class C Driver License or the ability to utilize an alternative method of transportation when needed to carry out job-related essential functions.
PHYSICAL EXPECTATIONS:
3 - Moderate: This class requires that the incumbent stand or walk most of the time with bending, stooping, squatting, twisting, reaching, working on irregular surfaces, occasional lifting of objects weighing over 25 pounds, and frequent lifting of 10-25 pounds.

Once we have determined that you meet the requirements, we will invite you to take multiple-choice and/or simulation assessments weighted 100% covering Navigation, Service Orientation, Issue resolution, Accurate Typing, Learning Potential, Achievement, Attentiveness and Desktop Support (Knowledge of Networking, Peripheral Components, Operating systems, Troubleshooting, and Providing Technical Support).
APPLICANTS MUST MEET THE MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS AND MUST ACHIEVE A PASSING SCORE OF 70% OR HIGHER IN THE EXAMINATION IN ORDER TO BE PLACED ON THE ELIGIBLE REGISTER.
