The SLC will lead a well-organized team, effectively managing dynamics, conflicts, and the varying personalities among students and staff.The SLC will establish clear procedures for staff to report and address issues, ensuring transparency, accountability, and a safety-first approach to programming activities. Programs will be tailored to meet the needs of each program population, considering demographic diversity, identity representation, and differing political or value-based systems. Additionally, the SLC will create programs that foster teamwork and collaboration among employees.This position is based at the Mount Vernon Campus and reports to the Assistant Director of Summer and Academic Programs. The role requires a non-standard schedule, with shifts that may start after 9 am and end after 5 pm. Background checks will be conducted on all applicants.Date Range: February 18th- August 3rd. This position will be required to live on the Mount Vernon Campus during summer sessions I and II. Dining will be provided during summer sessions I and II.A more detailed job description will be provided to those invited for the first round of interviews.Standard Position Description The student will assist in the management and leading of special projects. Tasks may include: leading and organizing mid to large scale projects, designing project timelines and goals, performing research, coordinating with stakeholders and the project team, reporting updates and outcomes with project leaders, building and organizing leadership development programs for students, managing student staff.
