This position is responsible for enforcing university and college policies and processes, being an integral part of the development and implementation of new programmatic policies and processes, and coordinate new and continuing initiatives impacting the MPH program. click here.Duties & Responsibilities Responsibilities:
- Provides strategic academic advising to matriculated Main Campus MPH students; including those in dual degree programs, which involves developing and implementing advising strategies to support student success.
- Leads and coordinates advising sessions both in person and virtually, monitoring and evaluating the progress of Main Campus MPH students from matriculation to graduation.
- Serves as liaison between students, faculty, other departments on campus.
- Assists and supports student achievement and desired academic outcomes throughout each milestone of the program to help them thrive personally and academically.
- This position is an integral part of the development and implementation of new programmatic policies and processes, and direct new and continuing initiatives related to the MPH program.
- This position will also serve as the academic advisor for all students in the graduate certificate programs and professional certifications within the College of Public Health.
- High level administrative and coordination tasks such as writing policy/process/implementation communications to students and faculty, reviewing and updating handbooks and other large programmatic documents.
- Participate in strategic planning meetings with faculty and college administration to solve programmatic issues in potentially new and creative ways to better serve the graduate student population.
- Coordinates and facilitates trainings and communication messages to students and faculty regarding the internship experience, internship presentation process, and required graduation paperwork.
- Partially manages large student database for appropriate and required record keeping. Edits and maintains relevant portions of website, such as the Hub.
- Project director/project manager for continuing and new initiatives, events and processes that impact the Main Campus MPH and graduate certificate program - creating timelines, involving necessary stakeholders, creating and sending mass communication messaging and production of any project deliverables.
- Serves as advisor to the students enrolled in our graduate certificate programs.
- Advises on required curriculum and assists with enrollment processes as necessary.
- Has involvement in discussions with other student services staff, such as Admissions Coordinator and Recruitment Coordinator, and college administration in relation to the certificates.
- Maintain knowledge of MPH standards and University graduate policies and procedures.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to multitask and manage competing priorities to support students and academic operations.
- Ability to think strategically for future directions of the program while also being very detail oriented and focusing on immediate tasks at hand.
- Knowledge and understanding of recruitment, admissions, and centralized application processes.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent advanced learning attained through professional level experience required.
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience, or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree preferred.
- Experience working with graduate students, student services, advising, applied practice experiences (internships), and retention.
- Experience with graduate programs and university graduate student services.
- Experience with public health student advising, internship guidance and instruction.
