Preferred Qualifications Position Summary
The individual will provide student affairs support, academic planning support and data retention/reporting duties for the administrative coordinator, department head, faculty, staff and students. Responsibilities will include but are not limited to: serving as the primary point of contact for current and prospective students, referring students to the appropriate faculty to answer any academic related questions, registration holds, assist with grade changes, late-adds and other student issues as they arise, prepare and distribute graduate assistantship letters for signatures submission of tuition waivers, assist Graduate Coordinator with graduate school award nominations, orientations and other duties relevant to the department's graduate programs, serve as liaison with Graduate School on admissions, records, registration and policy, assist in the planning of student related events. Work with faculty to create & maintain course offerings scheduled for future terms, enter course proposals in CAPA, loading courses in Banner, in which includes working with various units on campus to secure classrooms. This position works closely with the administrative coordinator, department head, graduate coordinator, faculty, staff, and students in order to make sure policies and procedures are followed and completed in a timely matter.

Candidate expected to be a self starter, team player, work with minimal supervision, be detail oriented, organized, conscientious and be able to maintain effective working relationships and communicate effectively with a wide range of personnel.

* Primary contact for current and prospective students.
* Refer students to the appropriate faculty to answer any academic related questions.
* Clear students' registration holds, enter permission of Major and Permission of Department overrides.
* Assist with grade changes, late-adds and other student issues as they arise.
* Assist students with questions on various academic forms and submission of forms including serving as delegate for graduate assistant travel.
* Prepare and distribute graduate assistantship letters for signatures.
* Submission of tuition waivers.
* Assist Graduate Coordinator with graduate school award nominations, orientations and other duties relevant to the department's graduate programs.
* Submit Grad Student awards through Grad Status such as Roost Waivers, Presidential Scholar Assistantships, dissertation awards, etc.
* Announce Grad School Exams such as Oral Comprehensive Exams and Dissertation Defenses. Submit official test forms to the Grad School.
* Assist students with securing a room for the exam or online approval.
* Maintain admissions records, route program applications to faculty, and submit decisions to the Grad School.
* Serve as liaison with Graduate School on admissions, records, registration and policy.
* Assist in the planning of student related events.
Percentage of time 40 Duties/Responsibilities
* Work with Faculty to create & maintain course offerings schedule for future terms.
* Enter course proposals in CAPA.
* Order textbooks and instructor desk copies, as requested by faculty. Also, submit textbook assignments to be listed on file with the UGA bookstore.
* Load courses in Banner, which includes working with various units on campus to secure classrooms.
* Coordinate orientation with new students.
* Plan Double Dawg Spring Orientation and possibly attend.
Percentage of time 30 Duties/Responsibilities
* Maintain current list of departmental alumni with current email/mailing addresses.
* Maintain graduate student files from admission through graduation.
* Maintain and update graduate, undergraduate and alumni student databases.
* Update student listservs each semester by pulling the class rolls from Banner.
* Maintain records of degree program changes.
* Maintain and collect data for course evaluations.
* Generate credit hour production reports.
* Compile, generate and tabulate various student data for departmental and CEPH reports.
* Serve as backup for Andover/Genetic, work orders, etc.
* Other duties as assigned.
