  • **Under the general supervision, identify and recruit prospective students into the College.
  • **Identify different target populations and centers of influence; inform prospective students of the educational opportunities available at Leeward CC; and educate interested students about college-related admissions and application process; financial aid application processes and other elements of the College.
  • **Serve as principal point of contact and coordinator for the College's outreach efforts to promote the College and higher education pathways. Respond to requests for the College's/Recruitment Office's participation in various outreach events (e.g., career and college fairs, workshops, tabling opportunities, etc.). Represent the College at events and/or coordinate the College's representation at them.
  • **Design, coordinate and lead all campus tours/visits. Work with the requesters, academic programs, services and other campus stakeholders to design and implement the tours. Manage all logistics related to the campus tours, including but not limited to creating online request forms, website, etc. Create and implement self-guided tours.
  • **Develop and conduct informational sessions, presentations, social receptions, and media events to promote the College. Design and execute on-campus recruitment events to promote the College and its programs to prospective students and their centers of influence.
  • **Research, develop, and implement various communication tools that will help community programs interface with the College prospective student population and the community in general.
  • **Develop, maintain and keep current online and technological tools to help promote the College. This includes but is not limited to virtual tours, online inquiry forms, websites, text messaging platforms, chatbots, and client relationship management tools.
  • **Work closely with college programs/units (e.g., Academic Programs, Counseling & Advising, Admissions and Records, Financial Aid, Student Life, Job Prep, Instructional Divisions) to stay abreast of the different opportunities and services available to students and to facilitate their connection to these programs/units.
  • **Work with College's marketing specialist, institutional research analyst, satellite campus coordinators and program counselors to define target population, key characteristics, and to develop effective outreach strategies.
  • **Develop fliers, brochures, and/or informational materials (e.g., College website, Custom Viewbook, etc.) for distribution to prospective students, parents, teachers, administrators, and other centers of influence. Work closely with marketing specialists to create signs, banners, etc. used at outreach events. Procure swag and other materials needed for outreach activities.
  • **Identify, establish, serve as the liaison, and maintain partnerships with community groups (e.g., private non-profits, government and social services agencies, etc.) and participate in recruitment opportunities.
  • **Work closely with the College Recruiter to transition students from prospective student services to incoming student services.
  • **Maintain databases, spreadsheets, photo files, and other documentation related to the various events conducted by the office.
  • **Analyze data, create strategies, evaluate outcomes and address areas for improvement. Participate in formal program evaluation and improvement efforts. Assist in data collection and report writing as needed.
  • **Hire, train, manage and supervise student employees as needed. Assist in the overall management of the Recruitment Office.
  • **Represent the College on division, campus or system committees that address outreach/recruitment efforts and/or enrollment.
  • **Work assignments will include working outside normally scheduled work hours - day, night, weekend, and/or holiday hours, as directed at various off-campus locations.

  • Minimum Qualifications:
  • Possession of a baccalaureate degree in business, education, communications, counseling, psychology, sociology, marketing or related field and 3 years of progressively responsible professional experience with responsibilities for student outreach; or any equivalent combination of education and/or professional work experience which provides the required education, knowledge, skills and abilities as indicated.
  • Considerable working knowledge of principles, practices and techniques in the field of student outreach as demonstrated by the broad knowledge of the full range of pertinent standard and evolving concepts, principles and methodologies.
  • Considerable working knowledge and understanding of applicable federal and state laws, rules, regulations and theories and systems associated with student outreach.
  • Demonstrated ability to resolve wide ranging complex problems through the use of creative reasoning and logic to accurately determine the cause of the problems and the resolution of the problems in an effective, innovative and timely manner.
  • Demonstrated ability to interpret and present information and ideas clearly and accurately in writing, verbally and by preparation of reports and other materials.
  • Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external organizations, groups, team leaders and members, and individuals.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate a personal computer and apply word processing software.
  • For supervisory work, demonstrated ability to lead subordinates, manage work priorities and projects, and manage employee relations.
  • Ability to work nights and weekends as needed due to office schedule and events.
  • Ability to multi-task and creatively solve problems that arise during the implementation/coordination of programs.
  • Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with individuals from culturally diverse backgrounds.
  • Ability to travel independently to various geographical locations in a timely manner.
  • Desired Qualifications:
  • Considerable knowledge and experience of outreach and recruitment in a college-setting.
  • Experience with preparing for and participating in career & college fairs, campus tours, workshops and other public facing events.
  • Experience with public speaking in front of a variety of audiences.
  • Positive working relationships with centers of influence: high school, stop out/returning, academic transfers, adult learners, military, underrepresented or minority groups.
