Department Summary The Student Solutions Center at UNT Dallas serves as a single-point for students needing various types assistance and connects them with resources from across the campus community. Position Overview The University of North Texas at Dallas invites applications for the position of Student Solutions Coordinator. The Coordinator is responsible for providing more complex administrative support and customer oriented services to multiple departments. This position performs a variety of administrative support tasks that are nonroutine and nonrepetitive in nature and require the use of independent judgment and initiative. Responsible for determining methods and procedures to be used, priority of assignments, and necessity for review by the administrator. Work includes public contact in interpreting and rendering administrative decisions. Work is performed under general supervision, with assignments typically reflecting responsibility for designated activities. The Coordinator will identify issues or problems and research solutions within a variety of areas. Duties reflect substantial variety and complexity. Assignments are broad in nature and usually require creativity and originality. Serves as a resource for others in the resolution of complex problems and issues. Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree and three years' of highly responsible and varied office administration or business management experience; or any equivalent combination of experience, education, and training.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with all levels in the institution, community, students and families
  • High customer service skills for exceptional service to staff, faculty, community, students and families
  • Advanced MS Office skills
  • Ability to prioritize tasks effectively
  • Ability to work under pressure, to adjust to constant changes, to handle multiple tasks, and to coordinate the work of others
  • Ability to keep complex records, to assemble and organize data of complex nature, and to prepare and submit reports in acceptable formats
  • Ability to conceptualize, plan and organize multiple programs and assignments effectively
  • Ability to work on complex and confidential tasks utilizing judgment, tact, and resourcefulness
  • Skill in developing and maintaining good working relationships
  • Knowledge of policies, practices, procedures and terminology of assigned function
Preferred Qualifications Experience working in a university setting with knowledge of campus resources and personnel; ability to prioritize multiple demands in a fast paced work environment while delivering exemplary customer service; proficiency in Microsoft suite programs; ability to prepare detailed documents and communication without error; skilled at effective time management; experience working effectively in a culturally diverse environment; ability to multitask, work under pressure and meet deadlines; data entry and document imaging experience; must be energetic, enthusiastic and team oriented; must be able to work extended hours during peak periods for enrollment and registration. Required License/Registration/Certifications N/A Job Duties:
  • Consults with students and coordinates team support programs and services based in the Student Solutions Center
  • Provides information and assistance to students, staff, faculty, and various other on and off campus stakeholders
  • Informs and advises the Assistant Director(s) regarding issues, polices, procedures, and incidents from students using the Student Solutions Center
  • Develops and conducts appropriate assessments of Student Solutions Center services and effectiveness, reporting outcomes and utilizing data to contribute to strategic planning of departments served.
  • Interprets/explains polices and procedures, from multiple departments, related to various student services to students, faculty, staff, and various other on and off campus stakeholders, in person, by email, print, or phone etc.
  • Demonstrates sound fiscal and resource management, adhering to policies and procedures.
  • Completes special projects and assignments, as needed, for the departments served by the Student Solutions Center.
