Examples of Duties1. Reporting and Communication: a. Report to the Assistant Vice Chancellor of External Relations and the SIUC Global Campus - Associate Director. b. Track and report the number and nature of communications with prospective, admitted, and mentoring online students. 2. Recruitment and Outreach: a. Lead and execute recruitment efforts, including developing and organizing outreach activities. b. Attend and participate in at least 8 recruitment events annually. c. Follow up with recruitment contacts and use CRM and SIS software to support recruitment, enrollment, and retention efforts. d. Develop and implement recruitment initiatives, including targeting under-represented populations. e. Schedule and conduct visits to educational institutions to promote SIU programs. f. Monitor retention trends and provide insights to support annual planning. 3. Student Success and Retention: a. Provide one-on-one academic and personal coaching to ensure students' successful progress and completion of their programs. b. Respond to student inquiries within 24-48 hours and engage in proactive outreach to maintain student engagement and satisfaction. c. Assist students in exploring academic options and connect them with necessary resources such as tutoring and counseling. d. Coach students on achieving academic and career goals and create personal development plans. e. Build meaningful academic relationships and support students in developing skills and attitudes for success. 4. Collaboration and Coordination: a. Work closely with academic program leadership and administrators to support college, department, and university goals. b. Serve as a liaison to students, faculty, staff, and external groups regarding academic success. c. Assist with planning and implementing student programming activities, including orientation, workshops, and joint programming with community entities. d. Participate in regular meetings with Extended Campus leadership to monitor and report on student academic progress. 5. Data Management and Reporting: a. Utilize university data and reporting tools to promote academic standards and student success. b. Support academic assessment data collection and reporting. c. Perform needs assessments and evaluate student support service effectiveness, making recommendations and taking appropriate actions, as necessary. 6. Travel and Other Duties: a. Travel to regional sites, meetings, trainings, and conferences as needed. b. Complete other duties as assigned. QualificationsMinimum Qualifications: In your cover letter, specifically address your availability to work evenings and weekends, and your capacity for travel, as required by the role. Master's Degree by date of hire; Two years of experience in higher education advising, student recruitment/retention or related student service. Demonstrates a proactive and innovative approach to leadership that resulted in appropriate demonstrated outcomes.
