Salary: Depends on Qualifications Location : Cape Girardeau, MO Job Type: Full-Time Job Number: 202400316 Division: Enrollment Management and Student Success Department: Online and Graduate Services Opening Date: 09/06/2024 Position SummaryStudent Support Coordinator Online and Graduate Services Full-Time The office of Online and Graduate Services at Southeast Missouri State University is committed to student success. The Student Support Coordinator reports to the Assistant Director of Online and Graduate Student Services. This position plays a critical role in the academic success of online and graduate students at Southeast. We seek a dynamic, ethical, motivated professional with excellent customer service skills, a passion for learning, and a desire to help online students achieve their academic goals. This is not a remote position. Primary Responsibilities: This position supports our online learners, graduate (domestic) students, prior learning assessment, and the online student services team.
  • Provides concierge-level services to all online and graduate (domestic) student
  • Directly supports online and graduate (domestic) students who are undecided or have unique situations
  • Directly manages the online and graduate (domestic) student onboarding process from admission to advising, including the orientation and communication matrix messaging
  • Assists with outreach initiatives such as phone banks, bulk e-mail, and snail-mail messaging
  • Supports students with prior learning assessment inquiries and approvals
  • Serves as a back-up to online student support team members
  • Develops and manages data and reporting
  • Utilizes technology to create efficient and effective services
  • Other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree. A degree in counseling or higher education is a plus.
  • Knowledge of academic advising, counseling or closely related area through work experience or an educational setting.
  • Demonstrated exceptional customer service skills.
  • Demonstrated excellent interpersonal and intercultural communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Strong technical proficiency with a demonstrated ability to work across multiple software platforms simultaneously.
  • Experience with electronic reports and making data-informed decisions.
  • Experience prioritizing and managing multiple tasks.
  • Ability to diffuse emotional or tense situations and offer viable solutions.
