Job Summary: Under the general supervision of the Student Support Director, the Student Support Generalist will serve as a primary point of contact for the following Student Support functions; Wellness Programs, Accessibility Resource Center Programs. They will provide administrative and logistical support for the front desk and Student Support team.The successful candidate will be dedicated to meeting the diverse needs of our students by helping to provide knowledge of the resources available through engaging front-line customer service to students and visitors. They will possess the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, faculty and staff, provide an initial response related to supportive counseling for a wide range of student problems and concerns, maintain confidential student information, and the ability to work professionally with students who are involved in difficult personal situations.Accordingly, the position requires an empathetic personality combined with a skilled, student-centered approach to problem-solving. Successful candidates must be able to effectively multi-task while communicating and handling detailed processes and procedures with discretion and a positive and supportive attitude.Job Duties:
  • Deliver front-line customer service to prospective and current students, visitors, and colleagues through face-to-face interactions, phone calls, emails or other written requests
  • Prepare communications such as memos, emails, invoices, reports and other correspondence
  • Schedule and coordinate staff meetings and other meetings as applicable
  • Inventory and maintain organization of program resources and supplies
  • Maintain a current, working knowledge of the Office of Student Support resources and services and general student services
  • Complete regular data entry, organize and manage hard copy and digital files
  • Assist with preparation for Student Support events as needed.
  • Ensure campus informational and promotional materials such as pamphlets and flyers are in stock and displayed for availability, to include monitor and maintain campus bulletin board and other posting formats
  • Assist with creating orders for office supplies and submitting maintenance or IT work orders
  • Be familiar with general college information and academic programs, including corporate and community education
  • Ability to lift 25 pounds, work in a flexible open office environment
  • Participate in other administrative and support duties as assigned
Minimum and Additional Requirements High School Diploma and 1 - 2 years of office administrative support. Preferred Qualifications Preference will be given to those with previous technical college work experience in a student services program.
