Apply now and join the Bearcat family.Position Summary: A 21st Century Youth Development Worker (YDW) is an educator that provides fun, positive and enriching afternoon experiences for students during the BCPS 21st Century Community Learning Centers Program. A YDW creates and facilitates programming for students at elementary and secondary summer school sites. A YDW collaborates with other YDWs and the Extended Learning Coordinator of their site to deliver engaging, hands-on activities that enhance a child's reading, writing, math, science and social-emotional learning skills.Position Responsibilities:
- Serve as a positive role model
- Support students SEL skills during during summer
- Facilitate engaging programming activities
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma required. Post high school education preferred.
- Educational background in math, STEM, arts, literacy backgrounds preferred.
- Demonstrated experience working with youth development program(s)
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to pay close attention to and manage details while maintaining focus on the big picture
