The NTIA is seeking bright, innovative, results-oriented individuals to join our Pathways Internship Program (IP). You may work full-time or part-time while attending school or during academic break. Full-time during school breaks and Part-time 10 to 20 hours while attending school.DutiesAs a Student Trainee- Broadband Program Analysis, you will perform the following duties:
  • Coordinates policy and program research related to OTIA's overall policy and programmatic mission, including BroadbandUSA and mapping.
  • Prepares recurring and special reports and summaries from broadband data requiring substantial analysis and interpretation and development of new formats.
  • Drafts summaries, briefings, and memoranda on core issues of concern to NTIA, including broadband policy and program issues.
  • Analyzes problems to include program structures, mission statements, legislative research and public policies related to broadband infrastructure and digital inclusion programs across state and local governments and federal agencies.

QualificationsTo qualify, the candidate:
  • Must be enrolled or accepted for enrollment as a student on at least a half-time schedule at a qualifying educational institution in a certificate, degree, or diploma program. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:To qualify at the GS-07 level you must meet one of the following: SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent in difficulty and responsibility to the next lower grade level in the Federal Service. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped the applicant with the particular competencies/knowledge, skills and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. This experience need not have been in the federal government. To qualify at the GS-07 level you must meet one year of specialized experience at the next lower grade level (GS-05 or equivalent pay band) in the Federal service. For this position, specialized experience is defined as:
  • Participating in research;
  • Drafting reports; and
  • Collecting, analyzing, and presenting information.
ORSUBSTITUITON FOR EDUCATION: One (1) full academic year of graduate-level education. (One year of full-time graduate education is considered to be the number of credit hours that the school attended has determined to represent 1 year of full-time study or, 18 semester hours is considered as satisfying the 1 year of full-time study requirement.) ORSuperior Academic Achievement as demonstrated by a bachelor's degree related to the work of the position from an accredited college or university with one of the following below provisions:
