* Collecting, compiling, and organizing data, and developing graphs and plots for data analysis and hydraulic and hydrologic analyses.

* Performing various hydrology and hydraulic computations using calculators and computer programs.

* Creating and modifying data files for various programs, ensuring accuracy and completeness of input and output.

Who May Apply: To be eligible for consideration you must meet the definition of post-secondary student as defined below:

Post-Secondary Student: a person who, (1) is currently enrolled in, and in good academic standing at, a full-time program at an institution of higher education; and (2) is making satisfactory progress towards receipt of a baccalaureate or graduate degree; and (3) has completed at least one year of the program.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social).

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant education and experience.

Qualifications for the GS-04: Completion of 2 academic years of post-high school study or associate's degree which will lead to a bachelor's degree with specialization in or directly related to the field in which the student trainees will receive training on the job.

Qualifications for the GS-05: Completion of 4 academic years of post-high school leading to a bachelor's degree or equivalent degree.

* In order to qualify as an Engineer when you graduate, your degree program must encompass the following: A degree in professional Engineering. To be acceptable, the curriculum must: (1) be in a school of engineering with at least one curriculum accredited by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET) as a professional engineering curriculum; or (2) include differential and integral calculus and courses (more advanced than first-year physics and chemistry) in five of the following seven areas of engineering science or physics: (a) statics, dynamics; (b) strength of materials (stress-strain relationships); (c) fluid mechanics, hydraulics; (d) thermodynamics; (e) electrical fields and circuits; (f) nature and properties of materials (relating particle and aggregate structure to properties); and (g) any other comparable area of fundamental engineering science or physics, such as optics, heat transfer, soil mechanics, or electronics.
