Job DescriptionJob Title: Dallas Nursing Learning Resource Center PositionJob Classification: Administrative and Office Services, Student Department: Louise Herrington School of NursingHiring Manager: Jamie QuinnContact: ...@baylor.eduWork Schedule: Minimum 10 hours per weekDesired Length of Employment: OngoingPay Rate: $8.50Job Description: Support informational and educational needs of LHSON faculty, staff, studentsDuties: Promptly respond to questions or requests from NLRC users, using the library catalog, published course schedules or book lists, or other library resources as appropriate. Refer unusual or non-routine questions to the librarian. Serving the library user is the highest priority of a Nursing LRC Student Worker. Staff the NLRC service desk which includes checking out and in books, clinical equipment, kits, models, and other NLRC resources using established library systems. Perform other duties as directed by supervisor. Track interactions in established systems not already captured by the library system. Assist students in using PawPrints, Canvas or with accessing other Baylor print and electronic resources available online as well as e-resources associated with textbooks. Assist faculty with requests for print, audiovisual or electronic resources. Answer the NLRC phone, handling routine requests, redirecting wrong numbers appropriately, taking and delivering accurate, detailed messages. Managing printers in the NLRC, clearing paper jams, adding toner and paper as needed. Reshelve NLRC items properly. Maintain printers and white boards, including supplies. Respond to requests for assistance with all NLRC equipment and supplies (such as touch screen scanner, staplers, paper punches, etc.) Orient new nursing students and offer insight, advice, and guidance from the perspective of a successful nursing student on the use of NLRC resources and technology, and to the culture of the LHSON from a student perspective.
