Position Summary
Job Summary
The Temporary SGA Liaison will serve as an advocate for the library in SGA meetings during Spring 2025. This student will also work with the library staff to identify ways in which the library can better serve its students. This position is defined as a non-exempt position under FLSA regulations.
Specific Responsibilities
* Attend all SGA meetings unless an excuse is sent to the Secretary. A maximum of two (2) excuses will be allotted per semester.
* Examples of excusable absences include:
o Academic-related absences (credit opportunities, internships/fellowships, etc.)
o The monthly meeting of the Greek Presidents' Meeting
o The monthly meeting of the Borough Council
o All other excuses are at the discretion of the Executive Secretary.
* If a Senator exceeds the limit of two (2) excused absences, the Secretary has the right to propose impeachment upon the Senator to the body.
* Impeachment will occur with a two-thirds majority vote by Senate
* Attend all Student Library Advisory Committee (SLAC) meetings
* Attend BWL staff meetings as needed
* Regularly communicate important student updates with Library staff
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
* Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with diverse individuals
* Understanding of library mission, resources, and services and ability to articulate these to diverse audiences
Required Qualifications
Learning Objectives
Students in this position will:
* Increase leadership skills by acting as a representative for the library at SGA meetings.
* Develop time management by balancing other responsibilities with the weekly mandatory meetings.
* Practice attendance and punctuality by regularly attending all mandatory meetings.
Education
Sophomore, Junior, Senior. All Majors.
Experience
At least one semester of experience working at Blough-Weis Library or holding a leadership position in SLAC. Experience with public speaking and presentations.

This position is paid $10.00 per hour, with an estimate of 6 hours weekly.
