Job Title: The STORE Student Worker
Department: Campus Food Pantry
Purpose/Role:
The STORE student worker plays a key role in supporting the mission of the campus food pantry by assisting in the daily operations, ensuring students have access to nutritious food resources. This position provides essential services to fellow students, fostering a supportive and inclusive campus environment. The student worker helps maintain pantry organization, supports distribution, and contributes to the pantry's overall success.
Duties and Responsibilities:
* Assist with pantry setup, stocking, and organization of food items.
* Ensure food inventory is properly labeled, stored, and rotated according to health and safety guidelines.
* Greet and assist students in a welcoming and confidential manner during food distribution hours.
* Help maintain cleanliness and order in the pantry space.
* Track inventory and assist with data entry for food usage and donations.
* Support promotional efforts to raise awareness of pantry services on campus.
* Follow all safety, health, and sanitation guidelines.
* Perform other tasks as assigned by pantry supervisors.
Qualifications:
* Current student enrolled at the university with good academic standing.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a friendly and approachable attitude.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Organizational skills and attention to detail.
* Ability to lift and move food items (up to 25 lbs).
* A commitment to serving students in a confidential and respectful manner.
Preferred: Experience in customer service or food handling.
* Perform business operations duties for assigned area of responsibility
* Provide excellent customer service to clients
* Ability to prioritize and take initiative
* Assist with various projects, activities and tasks related to business operations
* Ability to comply with University policies
* Maintain regular and punctual attendance
