ABOUT
Akari is a members-only Japanese sauna studio that recently opened in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. Members get unlimited access to communal saunas and cold therapy facilities. Akari brings a diverse group of individuals where they can connect with themselves and others.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Akari is looking for an experienced, passionate, and reliable Studio Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience managing a team in the hospitality industry and has interest in being part of a young and growing company. They will work closely with the owners and will play a critical role in overseeing daily operations, enhancing member relations, and maintaining brand values and policies.
- Oversee day-to-tay operations - uphold exceptional service standards, proactively address issues, solve problems, and carry a positive, calm demeanor
- Recruit, train, schedule, and nurture working relationships with staff
- Maintain and enforce exceptional cleanliness on-site
- Maintain clear and consistent communication with prompt and professional responses to members and staff
- Support management of private events and day-of event execution
- Conduct monthly inventory of all small wares needed for service, order as necessary, and ensure all items are stored and maintained properly
- Perform forecasting and budgeting of controllable costs
- Diligent inspections of all mechanical, plumbing, and electrical systems and arrangement of maintenance when needed
QUALIFICATIONS
- 3+ years of managerial experience in restaurants / hospitality industry
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills
- Effective critical thinker and problem-solver
- Positive demeanor; going the extra mile for employees and members; genuine desire to help
- Must be able to handle high temperatures above 150 degrees for short periods of time
- Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds
- Passionate about the wellness and hospitality industry
- Available early mornings, evenings and weekends
