100 Sutton Studios is a production studio and event space in Greenpoint, offering high-quality studio rentals and production services for photoshoots and video productions. With approximately 20,000 sq. ft. of space, including a deluxe private theater and multiple photo studios, we cater to global brands and clients to meet all their production needs.

Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role as a Studio Manager at 100 Sutton Studios in the New York City Metropolitan Area. The Studio Manager will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day studio operations, managing studio bookings, coordinating with clients, and ensuring smooth production processes.

Monday to Friday

45 Hours per week.

Our ideal candidate will:

  • Be willing to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Receive bookings and clients for photo and video shoots and location scouts.
  • Capable of working efficiently in a fast-paced environment and managing stress effectively, especially during high-pressure production shoots with multiple teams and shoots at our studio.
  • Exhibit great customer service skills, as this role includes greeting and interacting with clients in person during bookings and shoots.
  • Ensure everything is set up in the studio and common areas.
  • Paint studios before and after each rental and ensure studios are set and ready before each rental.
  • Keep track of production supplies at the studios, including chairs, racks, hangers, stools, tables, steamers, makeup tables, freestanding mirrors, Amazon tablets and chargers, and LED RGB lights rigged in studios A, B, and C.
  • Be attentive to the buzzer since several people and clients may arrive at the space.
  • Possess knowledge of professional studio equipment, including lighting and camera systems, and demonstrate the ability to learn and adapt to advancements in digital technologies.
  • Maintain the inventory of studio equipment and work with the team to plan equipment refresh cycles and upgrades.
  • Notify the team if packages and mail arrive for the studios or for productions shooting in the space.

BEFORE EACH BOOKING:

  • Organize and neatly arrange requested equipment near the back or side wall of the studio the day before.
  • Conduct studio check-ins using a form with booking information provided by management.
  • Ensure the tablet battery is charged.
  • Check that speakers are synced per studio.
  • If cleaning is not scheduled the day before or after the next rental, put fresh trash bags in and empty the trash, open doors and windows and do an express ce
  • If cleaning is not scheduled the day before or after the next rental, perform express cleaning: clean metal tables, vacuum quickly, and use a Swiffer mop to clean any area.
  • Keep track of the amount of paint and painting supplies like rollers, tapes, etc., and notify management to purchase them in advance.

DURING BOOKINGS:

  • Be alert and available to assist clients if they need additional equipment, have questions about the space (AC/Heating), or require additional production supplies.
  • Ensure production knows where to find you and have a general knowledge of the space (kitchen, entrances, restrooms, WIFI).

AFTER EACH RENTAL:

  • Conduct an equipment check-out with the DP or person in charge to verify the equipment and studio facility.
  • Return equipment to the room after each rental and fill out a Drive form report as requested by management, including any extra equipment requested on-site.
  • Notify and take pictures if anything is damaged or missing.
  • Check that mirrors, hanger racks, and everything inside the studio are left as they were delivered before the rental.
  • Reset studios after each rental, leaving them organized and neat.

EQUIPMENT:

  • Check equipment at the end of the rental with the DP, Producer, or person in charge to ensure everything is returned to the studios in good condition. (Use checklist format and forms provided by management.)
  • Monitor and keep track of existing equipment and production supply inventory.
  • Be familiar with photo and video equipment and willing to learn quickly.
  • Be detail-oriented and organized to ensure equipment is returned by clients in good condition and functioning well.
  • Be detail-oriented and organized to ensure equipment is neatly stored and classified in the equipment room and additional support areas.
  • Get familiar with Bookable (inventory software) and JotForm to add additional equipment and manage studio check-ins and check-outs.
  • Update inventory if new equipment is purchased.
