Advise UVM students about education abroad opportunities. Serve as a primary point of contact for students navigating the study abroad process. Organize and facilitate events and programs promoting study abroad. Liaise with campus and off-site partners. Maintain Administrative Records. Work on a collaborative study abroad team on shared goals.
Minimum Qualifications (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
Bachelor's degree and one (1) year of professional work experience in one or a combination of the following:
* Performing in a US higher education administration setting or equivalent experience
* Serving as an academic or other advisor, preferably in higher education
Effective interpersonal, public speaking, listening and written communication skills. Experience delivering programming or presentations. Analytical, organizational and database management skills, with a keen attention to detail required. An understanding of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion and its role in higher education. Demonstrated experience in a significant international education experience or equivalent such as participation a study abroad program. Demonstrated sensitivity to and understanding of other cultures. Demonstrated experience with high-impact educational practices.
Desirable Qualifications
Experience working in a shared database; marketing and digital content development; data analysis experience; experience engaging a diverse student population; foreign language proficiency, experience with study abroad advising, experience with study abroad application software, demonstrated interest in intercultural and international education.
Anticipated Pay Range $27.65/hr to $29.75/hr Other Information
Depending on final wage, position may be exempt or non-exempt
Special Conditions Occasional evening and/or weekends required (if non-exempt position, may result in overtime), This position is eligible for a hybrid schedule with an option to split time between campus and elsewhere, in accordance with the university telecommuting policy, Background Check required for this position FLSA Non-Exempt Union Position Yes, UVMSU ($20 minimum hourly rate)
