Job Description We are looking for a talented Student-to-Work IT to join our team specializing in Systems/Information Technology for our Cummins Inc. facility in Asheville, NC. In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:
  • Enhance Project Documentation: By assisting with documentation on PLM, Warranty, and Quality projects, you will ensure thorough and accurate records, facilitating smoother project reviews and audits.
  • Capture Business Requirements: Your participation in business discussions will help capture and document essential requirements, ensuring that solutions align with business needs.
  • Support Solution Design: By contributing to solution design discussions, you will help identify options that meet business objectives while maintaining compliance with Information Security and Controls.
  • Facilitate System Integration: Assisting in integration efforts between Cummins and CDBS systems will streamline processes and improve overall system efficiency.
  • Create and Update Job Aids: Your work on job aid creation and updates for PLM processes will provide clear guidance and support for users, enhancing their productivity and understanding.
  • Build Stakeholder Relationships: Developing and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders will foster collaboration and ensure alignment across various business and IT teams.
  • Ensure Compliance: By adhering to necessary Information Security, Controls, and Compliance requirements, you will help safeguard the organization's data and systems.
  • Drive Continuous Improvement: Your involvement in these activities will contribute to continuous improvement efforts, driving better outcomes and efficiencies across projects.
ResponsibilitiesTo be successful in this role you will need the following:
  • Deepen Your Knowledge: Continue to build your understanding of IT systems that support PLM, Quality, and Warranty. This foundational knowledge will be crucial for effectively contributing to projects and discussions.
  • Learn Engineering and Manufacturing Processes: Develop a solid grasp of engineering and manufacturing IT and business processes. This will help you understand the context and requirements of the projects you'll be working on.
  • Enhance Communication Skills: Your good written and oral communication skills are essential. Practice clear and concise communication to effectively interact with both end users and leaders, ensuring that requirements and solutions are well understood.
  • Build Strong Relationships: Leverage your people skills to build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders. This will facilitate collaboration and ensure that you can gather accurate requirements and feedback.
  • Take Initiative: Demonstrate your ability to take initiative and work independently. Proactively seek out opportunities to contribute and solve problems, showing that you can be relied upon to drive tasks forward.

Education/Experience: Pursuing Bachelors Degree in Information Technology, Business or related field. Qualifications Additional Information: Required Work Location:Hybrid (Asheville, NC Plant in office, once or twice weekly. Compensation: Please note that the salary range provided is a good faith estimate on the applicable range. The final salary offer will be determined after considering relevant factors, including a candidate's qualifications and experience, where appropriate.
