Job Overview The role of the SME III in the US Coast Guard Implementation and Sustainment support team is to provide day-to-day program support to NIWC's IT Services Project Lead. The position requires an experienced Project Analyst/Manager to support this project. This position will work out of the Chesapeake, VA area. This position is always open. Resumes will be accepted even when there are no openings. Responsibilities Essential Duties & Job Functions: Design, build, and deploy reports and dashboards using Microsoft Power BI. Build automated reports and dashboards with the help of Power BI and other reporting tools. Create interactive visual reports using Power BI. Develop and maintain operational and functional reports. Understand business requirements to set functional specifications for reporting applications. Experienced in tools and systems on MS SQL Server BI Stack, including SSRS and TSQL, Power Query, MDX, Power BI, and DAX, preferred but not required. Be able to quickly shape data into reporting and analytics solutions. Create charts and document data with algorithms, parameters, models, and relations explanations. Convert business requirements into technical specifications and decide the timeline to accomplish tasks. Analyze data and present it through reports that help in decision-making. Have experience with project management tools, such as MS Project and/or Primavera. Experience creating SharePoint libraries and user groups. Use Power BI reports to identify risks that may impact cost, schedule, and performance. Experience with Risk Management Framework preferred. Proficiency with Office applications. Continuously improve the project management toolkits and methodologies used. Recommend IT strategies, policies, and procedures by evaluating organizational outcomes; identifying problems; evaluating trends; anticipating requirements. Develop spreadsheets, diagrams and process maps to document needs. Evaluate and assess results of completed projects. Other duties as assigned. Job Requirements Mandatory: Must have a SECRET security clearance as a minimum at the time of employment. Working knowledge of Microsoft Power BI. Outstanding oral and written communication skills. Strong drive to provide good customer service. Be willing to travel 50 - 75%.
