A distinguished nonprofit mental health organization in New York City is in search Substance Abuse Counselor (CASAC) for its team situated in Manhattan. About the Opportunity: Start Date: ASAP Schedule: Up to 14 hours Monday to Friday Hours: 9am to 5pm (with a 1 hour unpaid lunch) Setting: Support CenterPatient Population: Adults (Ages 18+ year) with mental health issues The nurse will be provided with an unlimited MetroCard Responsibilities: The Substance Abuse Counselor (CASAC) will: Conduct groups and individual sessions in the clinic setting and in thecommunity Provide ongoing clinical services to assigned caseload and provideconsultation for clients who may need services or are in need of short termclinical interventions Provide services in an evidence based manner to encourage retention inservices Refer to additional services as appropriate. Function within an interdisciplinary team to provide high quality and evidencedbased services Participate in interdisciplinary team case conferences. Participate in internal and external committees Participate in internal and external CQI projects Provide supervision to students based on agency need Perform other duties, consistent with the goals and objectives of the program,as directed by Director Qualifications: CASAC, Advance CASAC, Master Level CASAC (Dual Bachelor or Masters preferred) Must be outcome oriented in a fast paced environment with deadlines
