A distinguished nonprofit mental health organization in New York City is in search Substance Abuse Counselor (CASAC) for its team situated in Manhattan. About the Opportunity:
- Start Date: ASAP
- Schedule: Up to 14 hours Monday to Friday
- Hours: 9am to 5pm (with a 1 hour unpaid lunch)
- Setting: Support Center
- Patient Population: Adults (Ages 18+ year) with mental health issues
- The nurse will be provided with an unlimited MetroCard
Responsibilities: The Substance Abuse Counselor (CASAC) will:
- Conduct groups and individual sessions in the clinic setting and in thecommunity
- Provide ongoing clinical services to assigned caseload and provideconsultation for clients who may need services or are in need of short termclinical interventions
- Provide services in an evidence based manner to encourage retention inservices
- Refer to additional services as appropriate.
- Function within an interdisciplinary team to provide high quality and evidencedbased services
- Participate in interdisciplinary team case conferences.
- Participate in internal and external committees
- Participate in internal and external CQI projects
- Provide supervision to students based on agency need
- Perform other duties, consistent with the goals and objectives of the program,as directed by Director
Qualifications:
- CASAC, Advance CASAC, Master Level CASAC (Dual Bachelor or Masters preferred)
- Must be outcome oriented in a fast paced environment with deadlines
